Merry Christmas My Friend by Kenneth J Ellison

Christmas Red RibbonChristmas HollyChristmas Red RibbonChristmas HollyChristmas Red Ribbon

Reaching out to you across the miles
Will always give me happy smiles
But at Christmas it's an extra pleasure
Talking with a friend I treasure.

I am blest with our friendship bond
That is everlasting and beyond
And because you are dear my friend
Some Christmas thoughts I've penned.

There is love in this friendship of ours
And whether years or merely hours
Each moment through time is a delight,
You have made my life more bright.

Though destiny has placed us far apart
You are near and dear to my heart,
Miles can't lessen my affection for you
Nor fade a friendship that's grew.

I can't say what lies thru times portals
It is not a God given gift to mortals
But one thing I know that's ever true
I am blessed with a friend like you.

I've thought of you very often today
And with Christmastime on display
I couldn't wait to whisper my dearest,
May this holiday be your merriest.

May happiness overflow your heart
And though space holds us apart
In spirit I will be with you this holiday
And long before old Santa's sleigh.

At this most marvelous time of year
May your worries end with cheer,
May you know contentment of mind
As peace and love encircle mankind.

May all troubles throughout your days
Fade to nothing thru God's ways,
May your fondest dreams all come true
And your dark skies be forever blue.

May the adoration of friends and family
Bring your Christmas wish-list to reality,
May you have gifts you so richly deserve
As the birth of Christ we observe.

May I have you as my good friend forever
And though miles won't let us be together,
Through the holidays I'll remember you,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year too.
