I've endured this world enough
Just surviving is rough and tough,
My worn body is a failing vessel
And I yearn for that final trestle.
Lord I've got leaving on my mind,
Deliver me If you'd be so kind,
I've languished here until I'm old
And I long to be on streets of gold.
I am weakened wrinkled and ill
And precious Lord if it be thy will,
Bear me away to that bright city,
With worship I pray for pity.
Send down a sweet angel band
To surround and take my hand,
Lift me high to that pearly gate
Where my dear loved ones wait.
Up through clouds out of sight
Carried on wings of snow-white,
Gently yet swiftly bear me away,
I'm ready for Heaven this day.
My trust in you Lord is strong
Knowing I am freed of wrong,
In mercy you have forgiven me,
With you is where I want to be.
So strike up the sweet angels choir
Lord make this my happiest hour,
Blessed am I in your good grace,
Carry me to that heavenly place.
Dear Lord living is becoming hard
Any life left is but a harder shard,
I'm longing for my eternal home,
In thy realm of brilliance I belong.
I bubble over with joy thinking about
That moment my name is called out,
I'll rest tired bones on golden shore
In a land of happiness forevermore.
Lord I've shined up my dancing shoes
When it's me you're willing to choose,
I'm ready to dance thru Heaven's gate
And I pray I won't have long to wait.
