I am wakened sleepily yawning,
A bright fresh day is dawning,
Time to rise and greet the morn
A renewed land is being born.

I hear the mourning doves coo
A dreamless night is through,
A glorious sunrise for me waits,
Out near the rose garden gate.

God has painted the sky and land
With a gentle gesture of his hand
And the autumn colors of leaves
Are an enchanting delight to see.

I take my seat in the wicker chair
Amazed at sights before me there,
Pastel paints blend with the bold
As God's majestic miracles unfold.

The countryside like a kaleidoscope
Reflects new colors inspiring hope,
God is painting joy from His palette,
I am charmed by the majesty of it.

Clouds part granting room for hues
Of sunstruck gold, orange and blues,
As sunbeams warm my smiling face
I thank God for His bountiful grace.

I'm reluctant to leave God's show
Of blending colors brightly aglow,
Such beauty The Father has drawn,
I rise bidding farewell to the dawn.
