Evening shadows playfully sway
As twilight fades another day
Painting their home violet hues
Till the morning sun renews.
God has blessed this happy home
And the family to whom it belongs,
Heavenly bounty does He award
To the faithful that call Him Lord.
A roof to keep out chilling rains
Love within to ease life's strains,
A hearth that's cheery and warm,
A divine shelter from all harm.
Sturdy walls straight and stout
To ward off perils from without,
A pantry lain with ample stores
For God's children He adores.
An oak floor from hardiest trees,
Windows for a refreshing breeze,
A fine foundation of heaviest stone
For this favored home to sit upon.
A family of God lives happily within
This blessed home free from sin.
They have faith in God and his word,
And all their prayers He has heard.
