Poetry By Ken in Rainbow Colors

They said you'd never love me,
My dream wasn't meant to be,
They said someday you'd leave
But truth I didn't believe.

I wouldn't listen to good advice
Now my heart is the price
Because you're a long time gone
And I drift in despair alone.

Here I am and somewhere you are
And it may as well be on a star,
I have no hint of where you went
And tattered emotions are spent.

You just packed and left one day
No whisper of why did you say,
Lovesick I knocked on every door
But you'd flown the day before.

That was a year or so ago I know
And I'm still fanning loves glow,
The embers of love just won't die
And teardrops never dry.

I thought one day I'd be over you
But you broke my heart in two
And time hasn't healed my heart,
It won't mend what's torn apart.

There is no fool like a fool in love,
That's what wise sages speak of
And the wise were right I suppose,
I've been a fool as everyone knows.

I wait for a letter the mail may bring,
I still listen for the phone to ring,
Though I know I won't hear from you
I can't tell my heart what to do.

I may as well try to write on the ocean
As to control my heart's emotion
And I'll be able to ride the wild wind
Before I see your face again.
