Poetry By Ken in Rainbow Colors

Oh, heartbroken me
Ever I suffer lonely,
Sweet love has fled
Into another's bed.

Wounded she bides
Far on yon hillside
In a dwelling of logs
High o'er the foggy bogs.

With a spyglass I see
My lovely lassie,
She tends the garden,
Her heart is hardened.

Her love I've lost,
My bliss the cost,
I'm an empty shell
In a bottomless well.

Ever deeper I sink
Into the abyss of drink,
Bittersweet the red wine,
Barbed is heartbreaks vine.

I held her sister tight
Neath silvery starlight
But only for one night
E're my love took flight.

Wretched tears she cried
E're her love died,
For this cad hates scorn,
I rue that I was born.

One measure of pleasure
Cost my dear treasure,
My true love has flown,
Too late fidelity--she's gone.
