Poetry By Ken in Rainbow Colors

On your sixteenth birthday,
No longer children at play
For the first time our kiss
Seemed far beyond bliss.

The rising emotions inside,
The joys I can't describe
Was the moment I knew
I deeply loved you.

A flash of love's first blush
No longer a teenage crush
But real love forever true,
I saw my lifetime with you.

And here we are sweetheart
We've never been apart,
Through school and beyond
Love is our lasting bond.

I am saying this special night
You've made living a delight,
I'd have no life without you
And each day I love you anew.

At dawn we shared a tender kiss
And again I felt that flash of bliss
Like we were teenagers once more
Feeling love's emotions soar.

There is no greater love than ours
Since those birthday hours
When you were sixteen long ago
And I knew I loved you so.

This is your day my darling wife
Who forever brightens my life,
I love you in every possible way
So I'll just say "Happy Birthday."
