Poetry By Ken in Rainbow Colors

When we first met sweetheart
She had left you broken apart,
I realized her lies hurt you so
But those hurts were long ago.

I thought time healed your pain
But my dreams are all in vain,
There is pain behind a disguise,
I see her reflection in your eyes.

You smile and look through me,
It's not my loving face you see
But a memory you want me to be,
We are living together we three.

You say you love me every day
And I believe you do in a way,
You said she was easy to forget,
But you're not over her yet.

You call her name when sleeping
While I lie beside you weeping,
She is in your dreams I know
But it's me who loves you so.

I'm the one beside you each night
It's my arms that hold you tight,
It's me who will adore you forever
And my love will hold us together.

Though you try so hard to show
The warmth of your love I know
That beside me in your heart
Is a memory tearing you apart.

I'm not her and I won't run away,
I will love you forever and a day,
And when her last memory parts
I'll be the only love in your heart.
