Poetry By Ken in Rainbow Colors

Wearisome Weather

Here it comes once more
Knock 'in on summer's door,
Autumn is poised to enter
Then hold the door for winter.

Autumn's playing our song,
We know it won't be long
Before blue skies are gray
And there's hardly any day.

The usual highlights will thrill,
Nature will smatter the hills
With colors that please the sight
And icy morns of frosty white.

I really won't mind the weather
And I don't give a whit whether
It's blowing or pouring outside
Because inside is where I'll hide.

So let gales roar and rain pour
I'll be all snug behind my door,
Let cold winds whip and whistle,
It's toasty warm where I nestle.

I have lots of books to read
And goodies on which to feed,
Cable television by a cozy chair
And flannel long johns to wear.

I pay no mind to autumn at all
Or winter on their yearly call,
I'll hibernate till their departure
Then from my cocoon I'll venture.
