Poetry By Ken in Rainbow Colors

There is starkness all around,
Snow blankets the ground
Where tranquility surrounds,
There is quietness, not a sound.

The rural scenes are serene
Over countryside and stream,
Landscapes painted by winter's hand
Lie beautifully over the wonderland.

Trees wrapped in winter's quilt,
Leafless branches bend and tilt
As if in slumber they bow to weep
Teardrops of ice while fast asleep.

Greenery delays at spring's door
Waiting it to be opened once more
Then again lushness they'll create
When sunshine opens spring's gate.

Wildflowers lie beneath the snow
Hushed in sleep they wait to grow,
Beneath the frozen crust they lie
Awaiting the bluing of spring sky.

The countryside waits silent and still
From valleys over snow laden hills,
In stark beauty the earth lies asleep
Awaiting the promise of spring to keep.

Soon winter's wonderland will fade
And beautiful scenery will cascade
Over the mountains to glens below
As springtime displays it's magic show.
