Hurry Springtime
How far is the spring?
When will the birds sing?
When will the wet days end
And let sunshine in?
How long must we endure
Depression with no cure?
Winter blahs are so dreary
Of chilly cold we're weary.
We yearn for springtime
With it's wonders sublime,
The warm sun upon our face,
Vacations to our favorite place.
Winter is nice for awhile
But Spring brings the smiles.
Winter should occur at Christmas
Then just as quickly leave us.
We most like to lazily bide
Where we can repose outside
Sitting beneath warm shade
Sipping our sweet lemonade.
So bring on sunshine's glow
We're tired of ice and snow,
Let birds sing their melodic tunes
And flowers give sugary perfumes.
Give us trips to ocean shores,
Backyard barbeques galore.
Please, spring don't be late
We stand at the window and wait.
